Scholarship Recipient Aareyionna Williams: From a CNA to Aspiring Nurse Practitioner with NurseDash CAP Hub
Aareyionna Williams’ Journey into the Nursing World:
Aareyionna’s career began at 18 when she acquired a CNA certificate and started working in a nursing home. As a result of this experience, her passion for nursing led to her enrollment in an accelerated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program. Although challenging, she enthusiastically embraces the demanding schedule of full-day clinicals and daily classes.
Q: What first sparked your interest in nursing, and can you share your journey so far?
Aareyionna: I fell in love with nursing after working in a nursing home after getting my CNA certification at 18. I started my LVM program in January, and it’s an intensive course requiring significant commitment, but I love it.
Q: How do you envision your nursing career in the next 5-10 years?
Aareyionna: My ultimate goal is to become a family care Nurse Practitioner, and I plan to apply for RN Programs immediately after completing my LVN.
Q: How does the NurseDash scholarship contribute to the achievement of your goals?
Aareyionna: The NurseDash Scholarship eases some of the financial burdens, reducing stress and allowing me to focus more on my studies.
Q: How crucial are programs like the CAP Hub for your career growth?
Aareyionna: The CAPHub, especially with its upcoming coaching feature, is so helpful. It will allow students to learn from the wisdom of experienced healthcare workers.
Balancing Studies and Career:
Q: How do you manage & balance of your academic commitments, career & home life?
Aareyionna: As a single mom and full-time student, I need to stay organized and mentally strong. For me, it comes down to meal prepping and always getting a good night’s sleep. NurseDash also helps, and I’m sure as the CAP Hub continues to grow, it will provide even more helpful resources for nursing students.
Overcoming Challenges with the CAP Hub’s support:
Q: How do you plan to tackle the challenges in your nursing career with the help of the CAP Hub?
Aareyionna: The biggest challenge is perseverance. The CAP Hub can provide support to all students, even those who need a second chance.
Q: Can you elaborate on what you mean by “second chance?”
Aareyionna: Life happens. Sometimes people have to leave a program, or sometimes a test doesn’t go the way you want it to. The CAP Hub supports all healthcare students, including those who leave and return to a nursing program.
CAP Hub Enhancements:
Q: Are there any enhancements you would like to see in the CAP Hub?
Aareyionna: I’d love to see resources for other essential exams, like the NCLEX, and more blog topics on getting into nursing school, organization tips, and stress management.
Q: Any advice for nursing professionals or students considering the NurseDash scholarship and participating in the CAP Hub?
Aareyionna: Remain committed, be mentally strong, and don’t fear failure. Utilize resources like NurseDash and the CAP Hub – they’re incredibly supportive.
